Clutch
In the past I have done mods to vehicles and never expected to get the power output that was on the label. It was just the nature of the business. So I am a little suprised that the mods I have done are that significant in power improvements. So +140 means 225+140? That means that I am putting 365 out at the flywheel? Or is it +140 at the wheel?
I jokingly tell my wife that I have the ugliest Ferrari on the street!
Considering the clutch and PP you have, I would expect it not to hold, even in a stock truck.
Its a DMF.
and 195 + 140 ish.
That is if you have stage 1's, IC, Hpop, exhast. blah blah.
Your probably putting out 330 at the rear wheels.
Call up valair and get a organic brass woven clutch and flywheel.
That will hold all the power you want.
Thinking back, I wish I would have gotten this instead of the kev/ceramic. I'm planned on more power, but it hasn't happened, so I'm just chewing up a 600 dollar clutch every time I take off.
To bad parts have to come across a boarder here and it seems to take forever. Ah well, I will take real easy for the next few months and bring it down to the states and drop it at a friends shop. It seems like I should sell the stock turbo while it is fresh and put something else in there. I think it is getting worked pretty hard when the chip is at its max setting...
Talyn your avatar gets me every time! Are you running traction bars on the rear end? I am taking the airbags out because my frame rails cracked, don't know when or how. I haven't done any hard starts but I was curious about the max setting and put my foot into it in third. The truck started to take off and then lost traction and started to bounce. I let off immediately but I am sure that is real hard on the back end.
I know valair are hand made to order though with US made parts.
They are worth the money.
As for launches, I don't race. My clutch is made for towing. Launching with my clutch burns it up, which is a bummer, cause I'd like to race the dotches more often.
I gotta let them get ahead and roll into it and hope I can pass, that way I dont burn up the ceramic and kevlar on the take off.
As for racing and getting axle hop, man that is bad on anything.
not much built can take it.
Back to the dmf thing if I find a smf will the discs I have still work? Seems like going to a larger dia. and a stronger pressure plate would be best
