Alright, I've spent the last hour trying to figure this out via google. I haven't been able to locate the owners manual for my 79' and the question is simple:
What kind of oil is recommended for my 460? and how much does it hold?
I haven't been able to find any sort of markings or label to tell me what year the 460 is, so I know that might make it more difficult to figure out BUT shedding light through my dumb cloud will still be appreciated.
10W30 is good, throw some zinc additive in there if you wanna keep the engine for a while, if you've got another engine in the works you can skimp but its a risk! 6qts including filter
Where are you located and what do you use your pick-up for? It gets really hot in Texas and I pull heavy loads with mine, so I run 20W50. Anything lighter gets as thin as water in the summer heat. I generally run 10W40 in a new engine, then go to the heavier oil after about 25k. Texaco Havoline is my preferred brand.

Right now it's just being used a couple times during the week to drive to and from work. Our ordered trailer and Boggers came in over this past week and soon we'll be taking it to a mud hole.
End goal is to make it a full time mud bogger, but until we start doing serious modifications in the winter it'll be a secondary daily driver/mud truck.
