Hey man, I appreciate your testament to the V-10, I had no idea that the mileage in them was that good, I just expected any SUV weighing more than 3 tons with a gasser doesnt have te torque to really get good mpg... I will definitely give the V10 more thought now, but I honestly thing that a test drive of both will be my deciding factor, as I'm deciding between the V10 that costs more on gas, less on repairs, and doest make as much noise as a diesel, but then the diesel costs less on gas respectively, more on repairs. Honestly as cool as the diesels are to me I think that whichever comes along first V10 or 7.3 at the right price I'm going to jump on it, but thanks to all of you guys giving me the advice on here I now know that the 6.0 and the 5.4 V8 are decidedly not the best engine to have in you Ex

Thanks again everbody

more what? I assume you mean cost more. Nothing new there, a diesel has always cost more. If your going to try and justify a diesel over a gas burner, with a pencil, save your lead. Diesels are made to tow, not daily drive to get the groceries. But if you've ever had a tuned diesel, a gas burner sucks, plain and simple.

More for the fuel. Also, I wouldn't have a diesel and they don't tow much better than a V-10 but lets not start a diesel vs gas debate. And yes I have experience with diesels.

Try towing heavy through the mountains of Colorado, turbo charged makes a big difference.

If I towed heavy trailers quite often I would probably go with diesel. I know diesels with no turbo are pretty lifeless. Not much power. Like I said I have experience with them and they have their place.

Here's my 2 cents (or nonsense). Just bought an 05 6.0l ex. Still have the temp tags on it (3weeks). Never owned a diesel b4. Spending 1400 for upgrades to semi bullet proof it. It's not used for around town errands only towing our 9k lb Trailer and long road trips. If you run unloaded a lot, around town, that diesel will hate u for it and will make u pay. We use our imported gasser for that. I am still beating my head on the wall about v-10 or turbo diesel but our family has both....so I'm good with it. If it gets stuck on the road...we always have another car (Honda....yeah I said it) to get around in. As for pulling in TX, nothing beats my new to me diesel and our trailer is going to be with us for quite sometime. I love this stupid truck and sometimes want to hop in and drive it to the store 5 miles away.....but I always have to think to myself....well it won't get to warm up very good....so in the Honda I go. You will love which ever you choose...so choose the one that will fit u and your driving style.
