Well Odds are getting little more now the MAF Could be BAD and could contribute to the overboost issue
1. You have a MAF DTC
2. Sprayed with break cleaner
Did you ever get a MAF reading on your Scanner before when it was running good??
I assume you cleaned the MAF after the OverBoost condition poped up???Is this true??
If you had a DVM you could backprobe the MAF sensor and check it that way Just Keep in mind the IAT is Part of the same sensor so MUST be CERTAIN what wire does what theres a wire diagram in tech fold would help figure the plug Pinout
Might be worth a Shot BEFORE you change the sensor out Cuz might be issue with the Wire Harness to MAF and NOT the MAF Sensor itself
i was having a low boost problem wit low map readings amd maf. had a really bad idle tll net. truck still wont get over 188 but had huge numbers in air flow.t got rid of miss and low power
i cleaned map tube, ran seafoam threw oil and fuel. it got rid of miss and low power
Oh so you had opposite before Low Boost then Cleaned the MAF and went to OverBoost conditions
I would try to use a DVM to check the MAF sensor output and the wire harness to it
It could have a short/ pinched wire or something and going crazy from moving the Wire Harness around
MAF sensor or wiring to it could be BAD so Im just covering all the Bases
Hate to see you install a new MAF and Have the same problems
But if your not to worried about buying a new MAF go for it everything kinda points to MAF anyway
BUT Beware I got Bit over a similar Deal the other day guy had bad MAP reading so change the MAP sensor and still had Bad Reading I felt Bad as should have trouble shoot it further to be certain
I cleaned mine with Kleen Flow carb and intake cleaner, I thing it is a softer fluid since it is made to shoot right in the intake, although I did not shoot in the intake, I cleaned it just because I had it out, everything is OK so far, hope it stays this way.
pin tested harness and verdict is bad maf. ill have one here saturday and post if that was the cure.
