I recently purchased a new delay wiper switch. After installation, it doesn't work. When I turn it to low speed....nothing. When I turn it to high speed, it runs for less than a second and stops. Then I hear the relay ticking. When I turn it back to off, it does one revolution to return to it's stop position. Also, whenI turn it to the off position from the high speed, I can hear the relay working in the low speed (you know..the clicking noise). I know the ground is important for this switch, so I drilled through and made a fresh ground point. If anyone has a suggestion, I would be appreciative. Thanks in advance and here is the switch that I bought: BWD S3579 - Windshield Wiper Switch | O'Reilly Auto Parts
You are looking for something that looks like this; could be red box also. Easy way to tell if the bronco in question, easiest to locate, has delayed wipers is to turn the switch; if it rotates counter-clockwise past stop. Then it is a delay system. Just unplug and you are good to go....
Got my relay and now have int wipers. One note for anyone interested in this: if you are going to pull this relay at the j/y from an '80s truck, you will need to remove the dash bezel and then the gauge cluster to get to the one mounting screw for the relay. Thanks for all the help
