Well lately my 2000 v10 has been cranking really hard at first then all of a sudden she starts spinning faster to get it started. The battery has gone dead a few times since i drive it about once every 2 months. the idiot gauge reads good as far as voltage but was wondering if its the battery or the starter. thanks
I have replaced the starter on two V10 motors. After installed the new starter sounds like it is turbo charged. My starter was rapidly draning my battery also.
Ok guys i checked the battery and it has 11.4 and 14.7 when started, and started hard but now after driving it all day its starting alot better but i didnt check it lately. still thinking starter sorry for the questions but hate to spend money

The 14.4 is normal after starting but the 11.4 before says you have a bad battery.
Anything less than around 12.5 volts after sitting for a few hours usually means the battery is toast. The 14.7 when running means the alternator is definitely doing it's job, so I suspect the battery is just done for.
Lead-acid batteries when allowed to drain down too far and let sit usually never fully recover again.
