Ran into rear passenger power window problems. Replaced the motor and master switch on drivers door. Motor goes one one direction. With a test light I have power to the two leads at the motor in their respective positions..so I have up/down power. I asked a question a while back and got this answer "If both circuits have power when held in either position you have lost ground thru the switch itself. If this is true, you could actually ground out the opposing circuit while holding the switch in that position and the motor should function. The power and ground supplies to the switch itself should be good in the fact the other motors function properly." OK, how do I do this in VERY simple terms please. I want to get my Ex back together. Thank You all in advance..
also, I have tested this motor on another circuit and it works fine. I have traded out switches and they work fine where ever I put them. I can say this though, replaced the master switch cluster on driver door. Even with the old cluster it would not operate the motor, neither does this so am I looking at a wire issue..sure hope not.
Check the wires in the rubber boot that runs into the door from the body.
I had mine cut there last summer and they caused the same issues. The symptom of intermittent up, and always down, wiggle the wire boot and could get the window up until they broke clean off one day.
Also very tight in there to work to try and put wires together.
I had a wire damaged in the boot as well on the same door. Mine would work if the door was open but not shut... It ended up being a wire which had about 1/4" insulation rubbed off. Taped it off and it's worked fine ever since.
