I bought my f250 used about a year ago and it now has 102xxx miles on it. The tranny is starting to bleed. Over night it makes a puddle about the size of a silver dollar. I know this isn't much but is this a bad sign or do they start getting messy around the time they are do for the big service? And what am I going to have to expect to pay to get this fix when I go in for my 105xxx mile checkup. Thanks.
Truck info : 1996 F-250 XLT 4X4 Ext. Cab. Long bed. 7.5L gas engine. As far as I know the tranny has never been rebuild or whatever. Mabey it's just a leaky seal or something?
It does have and overdrive button. The leak is in the front of the transmission and it appeals to get blown on the back of the engine. So it's right in that area. It almost looks like the rear engine seal is leaking but it's tranny fluid. I was just curious how much it might cost me to get that fixed. This is my first truck and my first leak so yea...
i have a very similiar issue but its oil not trans fluid so im thinkin rear main is that accessible by pullin the pan this is a 96 f2 460
Good luck getting the pan down. I had mine out twice. The trans had to come out in order to get the pan out. The rear main is a 2 piece, so technically you dont need to remove the trans
that bad, it looks like the crossmember would be in the way lol but i get that 60 the front apart soon anyways but u said two piece? is it put one in and push it in place with part two lol
