The truck seems to continue to crank sometimes even after I let the key go. Kinda like it's having a difficult time starting and NEEDS to be cranked a wee bit more and takes over for me. Is this an ignition issue that I can (need) to address or is it normal. Thanks, especially because I have ZERO experience with a newer vehicle nor a Ford truck.
Sounds normal. as long as the starter isn't grinding when this is happening. These trucks continue to crank until the motor turns over once the key has triggered the ignition.
If it seems excessive, you may need a new battery. starting times increase with aging batteries

Thanks a ton for easing my mind. My bride still thinks this is odd. LOL
