If access to plugs in a certain area, or side seem too restricted/difficult, some with the OHC 4.0L go at it through the wheel well by removing the splash shield.
As an aside, our waste spark ignition system Rangers prefer the specified iridium enhanced finewire Motorcraft or Autolite plugs & wires.
