Help with 2004 F-150 Crankshaft Pulley

I have to remove the timing cover in my 2004 F-150 (5.4 V8) in order to replace the tensioners, guides and chains. I was able to remove the crankshaft pulley bolt with an impact wrench and breaker bar but the pulley isn't being as cooperative! I rented a kit from Advance Auto (Powerbuilt Crankshaft and Harmonic Balancer Pulley Removal/Installation) that had 5 sets of bolts for theading into the pulley however I could only get about 3 threads in with the M10-1.5x50mm metric bolts. The 3/8"-16X4" bolts would go in 8 threads or so but only two of these size bolts are supplied in this kit. Does anyone know what are the correct bolts for removing the crankshaft pulley or what pulley remover works for this application.

Thanks in advance.
