The tubes on a solid axles are not cast. The carrier case is.......so is TTB. Also every class 8 18 wheeler on the road has a rear axle housing that is stamped steel and welded together in the middle
Took my whole front end apart thinking my tire being cocked out and the strange vibrations while braking was shot ball joints.... turned out the passenger side ttb arm's pivot bracket had snapped one bolt, ripped another right through the bracket, and the other 2 had backed out. Basically, that arm was only held in by the leaf spring. I have reason to believe it was the weight from my ex's fatazz that broke it....lol. Having already dropped too much cash in ttb parts and having looked for 2 months for a d60 to no avail, I threw a 4" lift on it with plenty of loctite and called it good....I'll just cross my fingers
lol I did, Its either in other vids or maybe we didnt get it, that was 5 years ago now, i dont remember any more. theres more vids on my photobucket page
And thats one of many vids of me busting something to do w/ the rear driveshaft lol
Yes ....absolutely comparing the TTB to the welded semi axle.....both are stamped and welded axle assemblies.............1/8" TTB on 4000lbs..........1/2"class 8 on 40,000lbs....you do the math on the weight versus thickness.
