2002 7.3 skipping

Hi Guy's I do not know what more I can do,this is the first truck I have had that I did not want something else and I can't fix it. It is skipping, I have replaced the folowing , CPS, FPR, Injectors, glow plugs, valve cover gaskets, rebuilt the fuel bowl, new lift pump, in tank mod, high pressure oil pump and it is still skipping . The check engine light comes on and off since I have replaced the injectors, I have ohmed everthing out and it is good, what am I missing?

I would get the codes read and see what direction that points you. Report back and we'll go from there.

New VC gaskets is on the list. Did you replace the UVC harness as well? If not look for a burned center pin on the connector. It is the common ground for the injectors. If you have codes read and get a P1316 take a real good look. See this LINK.

Not sure on that - I would try a oem & stay away from the napa cps - Heard of problems that others have had on here with them- Its probably easier to get a oem one & try it b4 you proceed & get to spending too much on other parts -Keep us informed & good luck.

Try a DU-87 CPS from Ford. It is sold for the 1994-1997 but works just fine in the 1999-2003.

Here is some CPS testing done by Ken (woodnthings), one of our FTE members.
