Does anyone know if the dash out of a 1990 ford f250 will fit into a 1993 ford f250 I love the older style dash of the 90 but I have to swap to the new 93 cab because of the VIN # Or can I just replace the dash completely out of the 93 and put back into my 90 so that I don't have to swap cabs over
The VIN isn't ON the dash...It's on a metal tag, that's riveted to the cab...
The dash'es WILL interchange....
The only things different is:
The vent windows...The 1990 windows will hit the 1993 dash upon opening them....That's why the 1990 has a full triangle of a window, and the 1992+ models has the lower corner cut off....
And the Steering Column is a tad different between the 2 year models...Not really sure if that will affect the 1993 dash.....I wouldn't think so at least....
Here's the 92-96 vent windows, with the 1990 style dash..
I'm thinking about using a 90 dash into a 93 cab. But... Is it possible for me to just take out the dash and swap the vin tags instead? I like the style of the older cab instead of the newer models

The fact that the VIN isn't on the dash negates the necessity to change them but the willingness was there to do it. Just reiterating the trouble you can cause yourself should you change the VIN and get caught. There seems to be a lot of "change it you'll never get checked" attitude here. Just trying to ward off bad ju-ju my friend. You can't get "un-caught" ya know. I'm 57 years old, fixed my first salvage when I was 15 and have dealt with DMV License & Theft a long time. Don't think because it's old you can't get nailed. Even if the 3rd owner down the road got pegged it would come back to you. Better I keep mentioning it than someone having to "lawyer-out-of-it". I would say "told ya so" too! LOL ! If those boys get a whiff of 'poo-on-your-shoe" ........ they're quite good at what they do. It's just too easy to do it right.
Ok well I probably shouldnt have that attitude towards it but it seemed easier than swapping cabs. Ok. On to swapping the dashboards Yay... Is there any warnings I should heed? Maybe a tricky bolt or of that sort

There's a tricky SOB overtop the Steering Column...
Best way to access it, is remove the 4 bolts, and drop the entire column down...About 2 minutes of work....
