We looked into it and it seemed to be more trouble than it's worth. For us anyways. We did change out the rest of the interior to a 94 model. We just left the door panels and dash original. Made some nice upgrades. Have a look at my Gallery under son's project.
All mounting points bewteen the dash's are diffrent, Steering colum brackets are also diffrent to hold the dash up. It can be done with alot of fabing. Then the wireing is also diffrent. I know as I was going to use a 89 cab on my 84, found out after stripping out the dash on the 89 and checking with the 84 it will be a major project!
how hard would it be to put a dash from a '93 f150 in a '80?
besides re wiring the dash.
these trucks use different steering columns. I think that may be a problem. Something to think about though. Plus a lot of other stuff I don’t know about. I would recommend not doing that and using the parts that were made for your truck.
