She would get tired quick...she has a hard time focusing on 1 thing for any amount of time so I wouldnt even ask her...
Watch the Wizard of OZ.......
I am however a little nervous about picking that thing up though, the size was definately intimidating. But I guess its like riding a bike, It cant be all that different from a bumper pull, or GN.

I went to a big open parking lot and practiced. I did notice sharp turns scrubed the tires a bunch. I moved to a open dirt/grass field and continue my fun.
Enjoy the Big Day...... Doesn't happen often

Will be easier than a bumper pull !
FYI, just spoke to my buddy who picked up his Raven last week and they went out over the weekend....
He said this is the first rv they've gotten that the first trip didn't reveal anything they'd change or had to be tweaked !!!
and he turned 1001 miles on his new diesel and 700 of it has been towing his old TT or the new 5th wheel !

Dave,
Thanks for easing my mind a little. I have a Draw Tite Remove a Ball. They dont offer a companion for that particular hitch. I was gonna get the B&W back in 06 but this one came along and I never thought I would have the truck long enough to think about a 5er.
Is your truck a long bed or short bed?
The trailer I purchased is a 2012 Keystone Laredo 324RL, the dealer is installing the REESE Goose Box, its the newest one with 1 air bag and 2 shocks so its not an adapter, they remove the 5er pin box and install this unit, thus no voided warranty.
Crazy, I cant get it until next Friday so you will have to wait for the pics...sorry.

Thanks Dave,
When I went to sign some paperwork Friday the dealer told me that the way the Keystone Laredo is designed I will be able to make a 88* turn without a slider, the RV tech said with the Goose Box Installed I may beable to go 90* becuase it moves the front of the 5er about 4 more inches away from the cab.
Turning is #1 on the worry list.

Don't worry too much. I had the same worry when I brought my travel trailer home from the dealer the first time, through Friday rush hour traffic, right through town. I made it, and your 5'er will manage the turns better than my travel trailer.
Just remember your trailer's wheels will make the turn slightly inside of the track your truck's wheels followed, so you just need to swing a little wider than you normally would. Other than that it will follow you. Also if there are two turn lanes I like the outside one better, but I've done it both ways. It really doesn't take that long to get the hang of it. Remember, as big as it is, you really are in control of that thing.
Another thing to remember is you've got a lot of weight to stop, so look far ahead and get on that brake earlier rather than later. I try to remember to cover the brake with my foot if I'm not sure how "stale" a green light is, or any other time I'm feeling unsure about anything.
When it comes to backing it into a camp site or wherever, it's nice to have a spotter help to help you out, but there's really no substitute for getting out and LOOKING with your own eyes, and don't forget to look up either.
Congrats on the new rig. You've got this.

Repeat after me - swing out, swing out
Ensure your pdq includes a test drive with YOU driving so the dealer can set the brake controller to the right gain....
I was lucky on my new truck - 3 guys at the rv dealership had either an 11 or 12 250 like mine - one was EXACTLY like mine - same color and all
they told me set trailer gain on 5.5 and drive !!!
since momma loaded it up with all her 'stuff' I have it on 6 now, but the 5th wheel stops perfectly.

Thanks,
Thats good to hear as well. Some of the RV forums say that the FORD brake controler wasnt adequite for the 5er. Ive had my 20' pull behind car trailer with 1 ton chevy truck on it and set it to about 7.5 and it stopped great.
I may go and stir the pot and tell everyone I traded the 1 ton in for a 1/2 ton with an eco boost...that way there I wont feel left out with the weight police watching

Well its been a hectick weekend, the Mother in Law is in the hospitl, so I had to pick the 5er up on my own. So Saturday the wife asked if I could set it up so ofcourse I did. The goose box is awesome, there was no chuncking, the truck pulled great, and I had to drag it hoem through rush hour city traffic. So here are the pics:

Thanks for the compliments on the 5er and the truck, it pulled great. The dealer didnt fill the air bag in the Goose Box so I think with the air in the bag the "tow feel" will be a lot better. I did have to air up the bags on the truck all the way to take the squat out.
I want to find a good air tank and compressor so that if I need to change a tire, air up the Goose Box, or blow lines out etc. plus it would be nice to have. The compressor that came with the ride rite bags will only fill the bags so I need something better.
