Does anyone know if the mirrors off of a 2012 will wire up to a 2011 truck? These are the standard non-tow mirrors with heat, signal lights and puddle lights. The owner says they have power fold as well. I'm putting them on my 2011 xlt if they'll plug into the harness on the truck. I don't think the 2011 came with power fold of any type, so I'm concerned that the 2012 mirror might have a different electrical connector than the 2011.
Does anyone know if the connector is the same?? I tried a search but nothing there.... thanks
dont know buy fyi I inquired at dealer once if I could add puddle lights to a Lariat; (I think they only come with King Ranch.) They said there was no puddle light wiring in the door, so even if your plug fits, you will probably have to run a separate lead to the dome light circuit if you want puddle lamp to work; I didnt want them badly enough to bother. Good luck.
They should fit. It's usually whether or not the plug ends will connect that's the issue. If you truck came with all of the options that the new mirror has it should be fine.
If the new mirror has more options, than what was equipped on the truck. The plug ends may be different. Hope this helps you out.
You can check the schematics of both model years in the appropriate shop manuals. Most likely the plugs are the same. But there may be a wire that goes to a different spot between the '11 and '12. That's what I ran into when I installed the TT mirrors on my 06. I had to change 1 wire so that the heated mirrors would work. I still don't have the puddle lamps as the doors weren't wired for them and I never had the urge to do it myself. It just wasn't important to me. I just wanted to be able to see around the trailer going down the road so I didn't pull over in front of someone and cause a wreck.
