I think blades made up a how to on it. Its really straight forward. Once you gain access to it its a piece of cake. Just make sure you flush the system good before you do it. Alot of people will flush with the old cooler and let the old cooler catch the remaining crap thats in the system. The one thing i will tell you that was the worst part was the oil that almost ran down the back of my engine when i took the old one out. Have a shopvac handy to suck up the oil, or youll have a hellish mess, also cleanliness is really important. Keep everything clean as possible, or youll have ipr problems.
Is there any "how-to's" or installation guides to replace an oil cooler? I've searched and haven't found any detailed info.
Starting on replacement of an OEM oil cooler on my buddies 04 tomorrow and just looking for some heads up.
Thanks!
Go to youtube and do a search for "senior master technician". He has a step by step guide to replacing the oil cooler and re-installing it. He tells you the correct torques, tools and pretty much everything you need to do it. I believe its a series of 7 videos. It helped me when I did it a few weeks ago.
Hope it helps. good luck with getting the up pipe hooked back up without a leak though.
I shoulda mentioned that we did a full EGR delete on the truck about 2 1/2 years ago. So up-pipes, turbo, all of that... Does it need to be removed still since the egr isn't there anymore?
I guess the main thing I'm looking for is the the "how-to" to gain access to the oil cooler? He said there's very detailed instructions on how to do the oil cooler replacement but nothing really about getting to that point. What's got to be removed, etc.

They wil still need to be removed. Go to YouTube and search for senior master technician. There's a series of 7 detailed videos on what to do. It's not too bad. This feels like dejavu.
