ha... ha... funny! But yea i found a spal one. Do they work well for the price?
Hehehehe....
Dunno man. I've got two Mark VIII fans ready to go but my projects (73 F100 and 70 F100) aren't at that stage yet. I grabbed them cuz they presented themselves.
The guys at CarCraft covered electric fans a few months ago in their "Junkyard Builder" series. Read the article and maybe decide: Electric Radiator Fans - Car Craft Magazine

Nope. Single (huge) fan, two speeds. I have two of 'em from two separate Mark VIIIs. They were in the JY next to each other so I figured "Why Not?" and grabbed both of 'em.
If you're ever looking for one, bring an 8mm socket with ya.

Ill remember about the 8mm.... Now the fan i picked up is a 16" fan. Is that what the Mark VIII has? Cuz my mechanic looked at it up against my radiator and the radiator dwarfs it. So he thinks its to small and i should pick up a dual fan set up now. Will the single 16" move enough air?
Isnt that what the forum is for? lmao, some good reading.
Sort of.... The articles linked above provide excellent overviews and more information than I/we can provide without spending an inordinate amount of time on this freakin' keyboard. In fact, alot of time can be saved if peeps first do some homework cuz the info is already out there.
The web (and forum) is a great source of information. We're here to help but sometimes "blind questions" like help with starting problems with no troubleshooting done by the owner gets under my skin. OK, I'll shut up and get off the soapbox now....Thanks.
Ah i agree with ya, im pretty bad about it myself, my excuse is my internet is slow, so instead of looking for a couple hours for something, i can ask here and get half a dozen links to what im lookin for lol.
So after READING! Those to articles, it looks like the fan will do just fine. My only concern was that in the aticles, the fan almost fit the radiator and my fan is easily half the size of the radiator.... So i wanted to make sure b4 the mounts get fabed up that it was still ok to use and would do the same job...
A 16-inch fan should be okay but what I would be aim for is a shroud that maximizes the vacuum that the fan creates. A full shroud with bleed flaps (so it releases the incoming air at higher speeds) will really improve its efficiency.
I'd install a 3G alternator before going with an electric fan. E-fans suck up lots of current and can overwhelm the electrical system unless ya got the charging amps to keep up with the loads.

Now the fan came in its own little shroud is the thing.... So i dont think its a removable one either. And yes i will have a new alt b4. Good idea
Looks just like mine. I love mine, and someone had already pulled it for me. LOL
I have mine wired up to a 17.99 thermostatic controller for the low setting and the high setting on the A/C compressor clutch wire to come on when the A/C is turned on. I'm using JY factory Taurus relays, fuses, and an ebay 80 amp continuous duty solenoid.
