After looking at it today I guess it doesnt realy matter how it will affect the subs mounting because they will be on the bottom in a spot that doesnt need to be covered. But while Im thinking about it is there anything I can use to better the seal between the subs and the uncovered MDF?
Just an update, Went ahead with the spray on bed liner stuff the Duplicolor from walmart. Looks Awsome the desing on fron trealy looks nice but i may try and color it red or something. Also it took four cans of spray but i did some really thick coats prolly almost 1/4 of an inch.just gotta mount the subs tommorrow, I couldnt find any one sides foam tape is silicone ok?
Silicone is what i use on my boxes and it gives a GREAT airtight seal. Only problem is, if you ever decide to take the subs out of the box, they are a little harder to get out.( IE: you might have to pry them lightly out) But besides that, put a nice bead of silicone sealant around the mounting surface, you will be pleased.
