OD Light Flashing

I recently went on a trip (200 miles each way). On the way down the od light started blinking after about 100 miles (pulling a 5th wheel). The trans. shifted hard. We were at our destination a week and midway thru the light stopped blinking and shifted fine.

We started back and everything fine for about 100 miles and then the od light came on again and the hard shifting was back.

I did some reading here and it appears the the VSS or the connection could be the problem.

Any thoughts?

pull the codes, could be a code stored giving you a hint about the problem.

^^^^^^^ What he says. Depending on what truck you have, may be able to get the trouble codes yourself.
