Is it pretty easy to rewire my horn so that it is just a button on the dash/console? It stopped working a while back and I am sick and tired of taking off my steering wheel, especially seeing how I dont have a puller...
What wires do I need to find and is it fairly simple?
also, anyone know where someone could find the cool switches that have the red safety cover on them, like the ones you see in movies in Fighter jets. I think it would be cool to use one of those for my daylighters when I get them.
Personally, I would fix the original horn button. But If you want a dash mounted horn, you should look at the horn button wires that come through your column. See what colors they are, and trace them back inside the dash, then you can splice them and extend them to wherever you want the button.
Good luck bro.
Hmmmm.
I was hoping you had around an 83 or close, I would have no clue what the colors are.
Best bet would be pick up a haynes manuel for that year and look at the wiring schematics. I would look it up for you, but mine is with my friends center consule with his truck which is in houston untill mon. He borrowed it for a few days and and forgot to get it back to me.
Maybe someyone will now the colors.
Good luck bro.
a lift and new tires will do no good if your bronco isnt running. spend the $20.00 dollars on a manual it will be the best $20.00 you spend and will sve you 10 times its cost. only problem with the manual is it doesnt have the horn any where in the wireing diagrams. the horns draw quite a bit of current so you will probably need a relay to make them work. dont think a horn switch can handle that kind of current. are you sure it is not just the fuse? does your cigar lighter work?did you check the contacters that are under the steering wheel covers? good luck but i would make it right no rue goldberg for me.
