2nd Trans in 1 week! Help stuck in Indiana

We haul a 3 car trailer for a living and last week our 2000 4x4 went out on the highway. Now I'm driving my 99 and it's got 2 cara on the back and out of nowhere while cruising at about 35 a hit a bump and at the same time i feel it pretty hard and I lost everything. It's a 2wd, I was able to cost into a parking lot. When I put it in any gear besides park or neutral it will rev up to about 1500 right when I put it in park it idles down. Now I'm stuck in Lafayette Indiana. Help

I'd love to help, but I'm in Florida and I don't have a transmission to give you. That's what you need. Does it hold or roll when in park? If it holds, the trans is done, if it rolls, it could be the rear axle is broken. My bet is on the transmission, and it's not going to be a sensor or anything like that. If it has no forward and no reverse a mechanical part broke. It's got to come out to fix it. Sorry.

Mark are you in Lafayette?
Yes the same as the other Trans that went last week. It has park and doesn't move.

I've never seen a torque converter fail to where the truck won't move. It could be the flex plate, input shaft, pump, or a bunch of other internal parts.

Any check lights or codes? Last year my trans died with same symptoms, I was able to get it to move a little if I disconnected the batteries, waited about 5-10 min. I was able to get the truck up my driveway. ??? Strange.

Well we had a spare used Trans that we didn't know if it was good. Well a place down here said he could take it in and have it done in a hour. It was called Taylor Transmission. I said a hour? He said yep! Well his crew did it in a hour n 10, they weren't messing around. He said the converter was shot but we let it fly. Im proud to say I'm in Indianapolis right now.

IF you're gonna keep pulling that heavy you need to get a BTS trans and a 6.0 trans cooler to start with.-Glad to hear that you are back on the road anyway.

Update fellas, both transmissions stripped out the foward drum spline. So if your trans ever just goes out then that might be a cause. Both are back on the road.

Pretty common... Good fix is a fully splined drum out of a C-6... Thats whats in mine now!
