just when things are looking up , it falls to crap once again . i have been diligently working on the new frame for bessie , and making small progressive steps here and there . then the wife starts stacking shiete out of the house in the garage on it in the way etc. as she has decided all of a sudden to make numerous changes in the house .... well me blowing up took care of that and this weekend it is supposed to be gone if not i'm putting it in the trash !! then as per norm , work seems to be interfering with my schedule , and longer hours etc. leaving me flat when i do get some time . to top it all off my 52 has decided to take a big ol' dump , with some help of course . she quit running , and with some abrasive language , a multi meter and some patience , something i seem to be in short supply of lately , i figured out the 12 volt aftermarket coil from bessie was bad , and it "slipped" the points once again . at least she always seems to get me home before she quits !! well i ordered a petronix coil and conversion kit as i'm tired of dealing with the finicky **** points in her . besides all sorts of little aggravating things and my hands feeling like cartoon balloon hands from some damage from work , i got it together and she fired .... once . well i went round and round trying to figure it out , messed with the unit etc. . it turns out in a brain fart i looked at the sediment bowl on the fuel pump . it's plum full of crap , crap someone dumped in my tank !!!! big chunks of something that was beginning to turn to slime , but was not from inside the tank or system . ever since i brought her home someone has been pissing with it and if i catch them they are going to get hurt as my sense of humor is gone !!! they scratched the word f-c- into the drivers door , and again in the right 1/4 panel , broke off the v8 emblem on the left front fender , shot the front glass with a bb gun twice , on and on . anyways , now i got a messed up fuel system , it wont fire , ( the dizzy is in right , and everything is kosher as far as i can tell and i'm not an idgit so i know it's right ) , and we now have a NASTY knocking dound coming from underneath her when you turn it over , which i am hoping is the clutch or flywheel , amongst other things . i am at my wit's end , and losing it !!! it may be i have to take the flatty from / for my truck put it together and stuff her in iron sides , and it may be i dont want too , but it may have to , take the 4.6 and driveline and electronics from my dependable old bird for my truck as i am not gonna have the extra to go through one or the other of the two remaining flatties .it has to end or change sometime doesn't it ??? i am seriously thinking of selling it all as it is getting outta hand ....................... now back to singing about my misery and drinking with the only buddy who seems to get it , mallethead ............ thanx for letting me vent again guys , or i think i'da been in the nut house by now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I know how things can pile up when it comes to fixing broken down stuff. When it decides to start, it usually accelerate for a while and eventually it start to slow down until it finally stops, and usually then I can look forward to a long long period of time when nothing breaks down. It´s just a matter of struggling to get true the hard times.

So this was my way of cheering you up in a time of troubles.
Regarding the stuff related to vandalism, I have heard that you have some open minded laws when it comes to fire arms, use them...... here in sweden the only thing I can do in a similar situation is to yell at them to stom and point my fingers at them and wait for the cops to arrive, which by the way never have time to come unless it is a matter of life and death, so the never comes. If I would do something I would most likely be put to jail..

yep ross it sits outside as the 53 is scattered all over the garage as well as tools and parts of all sorts. i just don't get what they get outta messing with her . cops can't do a damn thing , and i got a county deputy lives right across the street and he's watching , as well as a city and another county officer right around the corner . and your right jimmy it helps to get it out of my system as i am really getting close to just blowing a fuse , so i come here and bounce my head of the 'putor screen and get some body saying i am nuts .................. it just seems like i can't catch a dain break with my old vehicles lately . hades i'm almost afraid to go out in the garage right now ,( for fear of getting sucked into the black hole and be lost forever myself along with all the missing tools and parts i know i have ........ ) . i think when i get her figured out i am gonna have to find somewhere to park it , but when it's up and running i drive the snot outta it so that won't work either . if something has gone awry in the flatty due to the recent addition to it's fuel , i am gonna have to put the trucks flatty together and put her in . which gave birth to a really devious idea .... norm has my old healthy 11:1 compression , ported cove head , hotter than cj spec cammed 429 and c-6 sitting outta my old 70 bird ... let's just say i got a call in too him to see what i have to do to re-acquire it for possible use in bessie .every one knows she had a flatty and picked on her . might not be able too if bad joo joo happens to iron sides and it get's swapped in ...... i'm getting in a better mood but still p.o'd at my luck !!!!!!!!!!

Here in sweden we have problems with people stealing .....I dont know the name of it (extra headlights) from the cars.

as these things often where stolen at night it would be pitch black and the thiefs just shoved there hands in there and started ripping at them to get the nuts to loosen.........then

This guy "no one mentioned" broke of raisor blades in half and epoxy glued them on to the backside of the extra headlights ...... do I need to mention that the theifs stopped messing with that owner........

It would be apllicable on a gas tank lid as well...

I think you should get a security camera... Their pretty cheap. Then if you know who the little brats are, you can show up at their house and give the parents a nice talk!!!

 

no razor blades , if anything is to happen to 'em i want to do it to them myself . the camera is becoming a possibility . whoever it is knows my schedule , the officer across the street and the whole neighborhoods , as well as obviously being known to all so noone thinks too much of them being around . i have stayed up several nights before to try to catch them sitting in the dark in the house and even in my bird , with no luck . i just hope my luck improves here with it , the 52 , and my 53 as i'm at my wits end trying to keep one running along with turd bird , and getting my beloved bessie back together . this pic shows where she's sitting next to the front porch under security lights , in front of the garage . why are they so low . if they got a problem with me , the wife or my stuff sitting here they need to grow some ***** and come knock on the door , not take it out on a car !

 

Sounds like kids with too much time on their hands. A motion sensor activated IR security camera isn't as expensive as the damage being done. You can even get some that will stream the video live to your smart phone when activated.

 

You can get a "game" camera designed to either take stills or videos of animals. They are inexpensive (some less than $100) and have a data card that you can take to your computer and see what happened. They come on with a motion detector when they take the picture they have an infrared flash that can't really be seen but will allow pics in the dark to be seen clearly. It would do everybody good to catch that ba_ta_d!

sorry for your bad luck, hope you catch them or they grow up and move on before you give up on your toys. i had the same problem years ago but not to your extent. i put up my 24x40 and all the old stuff is inside with a 125 pound St. bernard keeping an eye on things. 2 52's, the 60 and my 66 are always inside. all the newer stuff can sit out if the garage is a mess. maybe check on a storage unit. might be a small price to pay for piece of mind. good luck

 

tom i was looking for that ,but the hee haw version ( used to watch that with gramps sager , not for the music but the fine **** women on the show !!!! ) . it just seemed appropriate . thundersnow that's a good idea . think i'll head out to scheels this weekend and see if they carry them . i'll have to put it up and hide it in the middle of the night so whomever it is doesn"t see it . i did get it fired up after draining the tank , clearing the lines last night . wish i had taken the carb off though as the float bowl must be full 'o' crap as it will run and idle but eventually die out . wasnt anything in the fuel filter before the carb so i didn't think it was a biggie . the horrible knocking is the clutch . so as soon as is possible the headers and exhaust and a new clutch assembly are on the schedule . i do have a storage unit due to all the dain parts i have for three different vehicles , and i need to go organize it as the old frame has to go in it .( from the effie , ol' bessie ) .got some small things to sweat like yanking the dizzy and rotating the housing around to let me have a lil' more adjustment for timing purposes , but she is gonna either go out too my unk's place , which i am still trying to buy from him , or find another safe spot . these same peeps are prone to spray painting nasty sayings on my mail truck , until he got caught and the police and postal inspectors were called . i believe it's the same kid and he lives across the street . i made a comment ot his gramp's who is raising he and his lil' bro about the problems and if i catch them what i intend to do too them besides arerest and court , so we shall see ........
