I had mine done this way and with a factory ford color.
Is the base color of the truck black? Hard to tell in the picture because of the lighting.
Did you have the whole truck painted or add the center color to the existing paint job?
My truck is mineral grey but the lower cladding is a slightly different shade. I am concerned if I do a similar scheme that I might have 3 different colors on the truck.
Kevin, the base color is black. Someone liked my truck so much that one night when I went out to dinner, they ran a key from one headlight all the way around to the other headlight. My insurance company paid to have the entire truck painted except for the hood and roof. I worked it out with my body shop that I would pay for the paint, and he would do all of the labor with part of the claim. I'm so glad I did it. I kinda wish I went more candy red though. I was going to do House of Colors, but he advised against it for daily driver because if it gets scratched, he would have to paint the whole side because it cant be matched correctly. Sorry for the big pics.
From the pinstripe up is all black.
middle is Bordeaux Reserve Red Metallic (2011 Ford Flex)
Wheel wells, body moldings, and bumpers and Black
For the life of me, I cant get it to show up great in the pics. Even in the sun...
I know mine's not an EB edition. Sad thing is that one that BFT posted doesn't appear to be either.
It appears to be a Salvage/Rebuild, that has 5.4 in it.
It's on sale on Ebay right now...
But I wouldn't mine doing that front-end mod to mine! That looks nice.
I have an EB but it is the Mineral Gray. The bottom trim is a slightly lighter color. I am thinking of matching that color on the upper part of the truck and leave the Mineral Gray in the middle.
When I first saw your black/silver ride I thought back a few years ago someone here had done one like it. After a little searching I found this thread, it actually shows two different EX's with your paint scheme. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ce-please.html

nicest looking EX ive ever seen! Im a huge fan of the two tone down the middle look, my 78 F150 was green on green but i changed the center from lime green to white and it looks so good. If my superduty was red id paint the center white like the OSB fords use to be

Thanks very much. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do when it was in the paint shop. I was originally thinking of going with a candy red. I am glad I went this way. From certain angles, the truck looks all black. I'm having the wheels repowdercoated right before I go to Carlisle in August and am unsure of what color I should do. I'm thinking of a really bright silver or a charcoal gray.
