Does anybody know if the early 03 ficm (seven screw) has a replacement half shell? My dealer only has a four screw part.
My ficm has 47.8 volts for a second when the key is turned on, then goes down to 22v until its starts then it raises to 35 volts. so i know it is the ficm, i torn it apart and reflowed the solder on the board but the voltage did not change at all.
Has any one had this before and was there a different fix for it?
You have to buy a new 4 pin FICM or re solder yours. I have a 7 pin also and following the PDF for the 4 pin was kind of confusing, the resistors I needed to solder weren't under the orange goop. but I popped the 4 DALE resistors off, re soldered them did the rest as the pdf said and I have 47.8 volts continuious now.

Not sure I understand your dismay. Your dealer is offering what Ford has to offer. The 7 screw is obsolete, and the 4 screw will work fine.
But really, what you should do, is go to www.ficmrepair.com and arrange to have yours repaired. The dealer is great for some things, but FICM repair is not one of them.
