2008 V10 Start
I have a 2008 F-250 SD with the V10 engine. By accident the other day I let off the key during the start the engine kept turning over until it started. So since then I just turn to activate the starter and let go. My question is: How long will the starter stay engaged for? I didn't try it, but I assume if I brought the key back to off, it will shut down the starter.

it will "timeout" after like 10 secs or less if memory serves me right.
it wont just keep cranking forever.
i beleive all the newer Fords do this. its basicly a electronic start now, instead of relying on the actual key position.
