What to Ask?
It looks like I may be forced to sell my 53 F-100 project. The problem is, that it is in parts and pieces. At this time, I have no idea what it's worth and could really use some guidance in what to ask for it/what I can expect to get for it. Would one of you be so kind as to offer some suggestions on what it's worth and what I can expect to get for it? It doesn't need to be priced for quick sale but I don't want to sit on it forever either. If it is relative, I am in the Toronto area of Ontario, Canada.
Here is what I have:
1953 Ford F-100 cab
- chopped 5 inches
- side vent shaved
- modified dash (made more symmetrical by adding second gauge cluster opening to be used for glove box or possible stereo/display)
- floors done
- new cab corners
- new sills
Doors
- chopped 5 inches
- door handles shaved
- modified for one piece glass
Fenders
- all steel, solid, but need some TLC along the bottom edges
Hood
- excellent condition
Running boards
- Fairlane smoothie fiberglass running boards
Box
- none
Grill
- good condition
Frame
- comes with 2 frames
- original frame is straight but needs some TLC
- additional frame is fully boxed and setup for Corvette suspension front and rear (needs some hardware from above frame)
Suspension
- Corvette suspension front and rear complete from disc to disc
- one disc missing
Engine
- 351 Windsor, 40k miles
- on engine stand
Transmission
- C6 auto, 40k miles
- AOD, high mileage but working
Misc
- Mercury hood letters
- Mercury 1-ton tailgate
- Sir Michaels roll pan
- 5.0L EFI plenum and related hardware
- Hortons Mustang II suspension crossmember (no Mustang II parts)
- Original rear end
- Ford 9" rear end
- 2 instrument clusters
Do you have the matching ECU for the engine?
In my experience a basket case project is a difficult sale, potential buyers with the ability to complete it could just as easily start from square one rather than get into an unknown commodity, and likely have a totally different vision of what they want to end up with. From your description, you aren't far enough along to consider it more than a collection of parts.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).
Ideally I would like to assemble some of the truck so at least it is starting to look like a truck again and perhaps a potential buyer might see the vision I had for the truck.
