I'm honestly not worried about that, but I think the overflow line will still work as designed. There isn't a ton of water flowing through that line. Maybe I will have to ask Bob about it one of these days, but I'm honestly not worried about it. If I overheat to that point, I have much bigger problems anyways.

So dose that make it like a closed system and the bottle if full all the time?

Not even close. I'm feeding the filter from the small port on the side of the WP. That is only taking a small amount of the coolant right before it gets to the t-stat and exits the t-stat to the radiator. So, it's kinda like a bypass filter. Plus, if Bob Riley says running the return to the overflow hose, I'm sure it's fine. I'm not worried in any way about it.

Uh-oh... Maybe I hooked mine up backwards! The hose that connects to the top of the water pump is the return flow?

Yep, BlueMule(Rodney) is the one who mentioned to hook it up this way to me, both the feed and return, so sounds like yours is backwards.

Here is a post where this is discussed:

Seems less than conclusive to me...

I wouldn't hook it up from the pump like that.

Pretty much makes it a full flow filter.
Depending on your filter head.

Your creating another path for fluid to randomly travel.

Well, I'll be... I suppose that explains why the used filters have been perfectly clean when I cut them apart... all the junk must have been on the inside of the pleats!

Fine with it being w full flow, i dont use my heater and i plan on changing it regularly so it will never get clogged enough to stop flow. Im just so damned confused now lol! So it should be fed by the hose coming from the head and return to the one going to the water pump right?
OR
just have It in the same line, so basically just cut the hose from the head, and put the other end of the same hose on the outlet side?

The main problem with running in that way, in my eyes, is that your creating a diversion for the fluid.

It's an example of things taking the easiest path.

The other problem I don't necessarily like about it is there is really no good way to plumb it back in.

If it works, it works. Just doesn't seem the best solution in my eyes.

Not in the same line as its full flow that way. You don't want that. Fed from the head and returned to the top of the water pump line. Or you can just tee into both lines if you wish. Here are a couple examples
