1973 Box
I am rebuilding my '76 Highboy again after being destroyed in a hail storm last Aug. The body that I'm using is off a '73. I was wondering if anyone knew why the 73's box inner wheel wells are so long?

My original bed had those as does my replacement and I believe they were used on Camper Specials 2wd.
I have never seen the inner wells as a replacement part for those beds...just so you know.

idk why they did it but if you notice the newer ones there is a small hump behind the wheel well for the fuel filler neck on the driver side and the passenger side does not. on the 73 the wheel well covers the fuel filler also and the passenger side matches. Maybe they changed it to have more room in the bed.
