Well I'm pretty bummed and can't sleep. I turned on the water in the new house and a joint blew apart in the basement before the water even made it upstairs. I got it fixed but it was getting late so we called it a night before testing the fix and the rest of the plumbing, but now I'm stressed out. Gotta love buying foreclosed homes that have sat empty for 4 years. So far I have put in a new water heater, water pressure gauge, pressure switch, and fixed this joint. I hope thats the end of the plumbing list.
The thing that has me worried is the 1/2 bath is on the ground floor, and there are 2 full baths on the second floor and there are no access panels. So if there is a leak upstairs I won't know it until the water finds its way downstairs which is going to suck. Plus we have been working OT so I can't work on the house until 7 or 8 at night. At least with the OT money I should be able to get some truck goodies and install them in the heated garage!

Good luck with the plumbing. It will all work out. Have a little faith and if something does happen just think of it as giving the ground floor a good washing!

Tom if you are still listening we need to make this thread sticky: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...pter-leak.html
It would save people a lot of hassle since this is a very common problem that people usually get bad advice about.

Yeah I've got a pretty awesome job. Sometimes it gets a little boring but the benefits are awesome. One of those benefits is time and a half for everything over 40 hours. Another is I can have custom parts made here at work for cheap. So I can just design my own parts, make a print and usually get them the same day!
Well, I had one more leak one Saturday when we tried the plumbing again. It was the same type of failure. This time it was an elbow behind the dish washer. It looks like they added the dish washer later, as well as the refrigerator water supply. Who ever added those didn't know how to glue CPVC joints together.
