Gone Fishin'

By the time that I load up the wife and 4 kids, camp chairs, stroller, tackle boxes, etc. the back is fairly loaded up. I snake the rods between the glass and the bench back on the passenger side.

Where do you put your rods when you go fishing? Any DIY organizers? Pics please.

A boat works good for carrying that kind of stuff. Need to recommend this to the wife .

I'm usually fishing during happy hour.
I can't discuss where I'm trying to put my rod....

How about the space between the spare tire and rear quarter glass on the driver's side? Just the rod in there with the reel end of the rod sitting on the ledge right over the rear wheel wells.

I've never tried it because I stash my rods in the travel trailer. I think that space should hold it.

I personally like the boat solution.... mine hang in the garage when not being used on the boat. A friend of mine got this and it works well.

That looks like the easiest solution.

I am trying to get a small jon boat for the ponds in the area. I have a 17.5 ft bass boat for the lakes and when I take her to the lake, that is where the rods go. Until I get a 12' jon for the ponds and small lakes, I am thinking about fabricate something like the pics in the link. Thanks for the replies.

i like the pvc grille guard style myself, keeps them out of the truck. Always had bad luck with someone slamming the door on a rod tip or getting a hook stuck in a seatbelt. I've been wanting to make a holder that would slide into my hitch and have space for 4 rods or so, with a bar that i could padlock overtop them to keep them from falling off or getting thieved.
