I have a '69 f250 and the gas, alt, and temp guages are not working. Oil pressure is the only one that does work. I have been performing some of the tests that have been talked about in the past forums to isolate the problem. Thus far I've been able to rule out the IVR as the problem--it's working fine.
My question: would a bad sending unit on one of the tanks affect the other guages (temp, alt, and gas for the other tank)? I grounded the lead to the sending unit on the tank behind the seat and the guage for that tank does peg, but the others remain dead.
Thanks in advance!

p.s. thanks for all of the great info and help--it's been a great resource for a newbie.
A bad sending unit will not affect the other gauges. Since you pegged the fuel gauge, I'd say the sending unit is bad or the ground to it. Your temp. sender might also be bad, try grounding that lead too. The ground should be good since the oil gauge works.
Thanks a lot, Barry. I thought it seemd a little unlikely that the sending units on both tanks and the temp sending unit would all be bad at the same time, but then again the truck is 33 years old...
I'll try grounding the others and see what I get.
I appreciate the help.
