'05, 6.0 PSD in and Ex... Outside temp was 54 deg,,, Engine didn't want to fire up... It would hit, then cough, then hit again.. finally got it to fire up, lots of gray-black smoke.. and an engine mis., mis slowly cleared out as temps increased.
Got it home, and up to operating temp. Removed Scangauge II from '00 F250 to ck codes on the 6.0.... was getting a code 0261 (constant) and 0264 (intermittant)... I was unable to get the Scangauge to clear the 0261 code.
From what I'm reading on FTE, time to replace / rebuild the FICM. If so, I'll be taking it out and sending it to Iowa to FICM Rebuild
Is this true??? All ideas and opinions welcomed....
And "No", haven't checked the voltage. The last one I had to change for a buddy, did nearly the same thing. Only difference was his got to point it wouldn't start. With the code's I'm seeing, I'm confident the FICM is about to take a crap.
