E40D REBUILD

So I tried to rebuild the E40D trans in my 95 Bronco with a kit from TCI. Got it back together and it ran fine till it warmed up. Then it would stall the engine in reverse! Didnt know what to do after all that.

So now its been at the trans shop now for over three weeks. They cant find the problem. What could it be?

It could be a loose internal filter, low trans fluid, leaking seals, or a worn out pump.

Just for grins, try unplugging the courtesy lamp fuse, this kills the speedometer. If it is giving false information to the EEC, it will engage the converter clutch when placed in gear (ask me how I know this).

I second that, if they can't figure it out in a over a month, they should stick to Powerglides.

A mismatched pump half and a worn pump can cause this, did you replace the pump with a reman, or did you notice a worn pump body?

Loose, incorrect filter, or low fluid is the most common cause.

Hey thanks for the help! Maybe you could call the shop for me and find out what the problem was or is? I dont know if this guy is bull****ting me or not.

He charged me for an acumulator body, exchanged pump, and a good used solenoid pack. Does that sound right to you?
