Hey guys,
Been reading a few threads on by-pass filters, and now I'm looking for a filter base that will accept the amsoil 1-16 threading on their Ea100 filter. Trying to save money and not spend so much on their kit.
Amsoil kit is overpriced. The 7.3 has bypass oil filtration designed into the block. Let me know if you want directions on how to do one. I have found a .pdf with full instructions that can serve as a guide for your own system. I'll email it if you want.
I think he is talking about the plugs you tap into down by the Oil cooler(I think its by the oil cooler...or filter).. where you put some fittings on there and that serves as your oil in and out that lead to the filter.
Not sure how it is exactly and I cant post pics from another thread since im on my phone..

Yes. There are ports that are plumbed in the block for bypass filtration. They are on each side of the oil filter mount. One is supply, the other is return.
I don't have a place to host the .pdf, but I can send it to someone who does if they want it and/or will post it. I did not make the .pdf, it's just one I found and kept for my use.
1-16 is kind of an oddball size that's not used a lot. Cummins used it on their 5.9 engines and I think it was also used for some hydraulic filters. You can buy a kit to remote mount the Cummins filter but it costs more than the Amsoil filter base.
