I bought a used 2003 F250 (SD, crew cab, V8 5.4L gas engine) a while back and am just getting around to wondering what these real important looking loose wires are. They're under the hood, back in the corner, on the driver's side near the firewall.
There's also this very empty looking bracket below the wires.
So, what am I missing, and is it, um, very important?
The four wires are called blunt cut wires , they pass thru the firewall and come out under the dash. They look the same way under the dash and they are there for customer use so you dont have to try and pass wires thru the dash yourself , you can use any of those instead. As far as the bracket I will have to look at my truck and see whats there.
The brackets are for auxiliary relay boxes. A diesel engine would have a box there with relays and a fuse for FICM power. Electronic Shift On the Fly 4WD would have a box there for shift motor relays.
