Ok I was thinking these engines are known for hot oil and I have an oil temp gauge and my 6.9 easily reaches 230 my parts truck has a good ac system on it.... I was thinking I could take the condenser off and clean it out.... And use it as an added oil cooler? Just run it off of one of the high pressure oil ports and just let it feed back in to something such as the cdr hole (just like a turbo would)
Yeah, don't waste your time. All you will wind up doing is creating more potential for oil leaks and over-complicating the oil system opening it up to more failure points.
what your doing is ok imho.but don't do it without an external oil t-sat.
444dieselrod brings up a valuable point.you want the heat to rid condensation in the oil.
something like this would work well.but 80C is't even 180 degree's. http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Produc...%20Accessories
get searching.
alternatively, you could swap in a turbo oil cooler.it has more fins than an n/a engine.
if your not turbocharged, and hauling/towing heavy then you probably have nothing to worry about anyway.
these engines do not have a common heating problem fyi.those who say this, have problems and,or,are over gross anyway.
Well 230 without a load and I was thinking if it did work and me adding a turbo later (probably having nmb2 build one for me) I was wanting to cool the oil pre cooler put an extra oil filter, and post cooler run a 25 ppm filter for the turbo
