4.6 Spark Plug replacement...

I got 7 out of 8 done without drama. Got to the rear most plug on the passengers side and it came out ok, although it was the hardest of the lot to break free. The whole plug came out. For some reason, no matter what i try, i can't get the new plug in. Heck, i can't even get the old plug back in so i am at a total loss.

Here is a photo of the plug whole...

I don't understand what's going on here at all. The old plug came out in one piece.

Thoughts?

I should add, this is a 1999 F150 4.6 so should not have the dreaded two piece spark plug issues.

You would think so right? I can't even get a thread chaser to screw in. It's as if there is still something in the sparkplug hole. I can't even get a screw driver down in there. None of this makes any sense.

OK, i got an inspection camera, and stuck it down there. First image is of the front plug, passengers side, with which i have no problems removing and installing a plug. The second image is of the one i am having issues with. It would seem that there is definitely something in there still, but what? I pulled a complete plug outta there, in one piece.

It's almost like someone previously broke a plug (or?) off there, and then somehow managed to screw another plug in on top of it. But if that were the case, i would have expected a misfire at least. I don't get it at all. I get the feeling the head is going to have to come off. &(&# it.

I didn't see that it was blocked. I removed my post, as it makes no sense with this challenge. Good luck

Thankfully, crisis averted. I put the 7th plug back in, and fired it up. Something went POP. Shut it down, stuck the camera back in the rear pot, and waddayaknow, hole now clear. Screwed in the new plug, and away she went. Thank fvck for that. I guess something must have fallen in there after removing the plug. Haven't been able to find what it shot outta there, just thankful it did!

That's crazy! This makes no sense what's so ever...the plug came out in one piece and the new one won't go in. The holes are different but how??
