When the truck is cold and i start it up, i am getting more smoke than ever, its not black, and its not oil or anti-freeze, its just diesel, whitish diesel smoke.
Again this has started as of late, the main thing and most worrisome for me is again when its cold and I start off in 1st and just as the RPMS are building up and getting ready to switch into 2nd it seems to hesitate a little bit and at that point you can see a little bit of whitish smoke coming from the the tailpipe and it almost feels like the truck is humping when the rpms are up like this, anyways from 2nd to third it does it again however a much more noticeable hump and but seemingly less white smoke. It will shift and it does feel like its pulling hard but It hasn't been doing this and it only does it when its cold after it goes through the gears one time i don't have the problem again.
I will add this, I do have an anti-freeze leak somewhere but I cannot smell the antifreeze coming out of the tailpipe just in the engine bay when its running.
if your sure the coolant smell isn't out back, and the white does clear up when the truck is up to operating temp, then that's a good sign.
your issue sounds like a bad injector(s) in this case.
how many miles on the truck and fuel system?
the issue doesn't sound like E40D/trans problems at all.that's always good hey?
Yeah, the injectors were reman ones but they only have about 500 miles on them. Could it be the fuel pump? Because that was not replaced with the injectors. There are 153xxx on the truck and the fuel system has been replaced accept for the pump.
if the pump hasn't yet been replaced, its past due. i've always heard that when its time for injectors, its about time for a pump too.
haven't had to do it myself yet, so i'm just passing on what i've heard from those who know better than i do
