NewGuy witha question
I'm Mike out here in West Texas. I am the proud owner of a 1977 F-250 Ranger Super cab camper special with the 400 and C-6 automatic. The truck has 148,000 original miles. The previous owner did away with the stock 16.5" wheels and put the old 5 spoke "wagon wheels" on it with some 31X10.50X15" tires... I really want to put some newer model F-250/350 wheels and tires on this truck because I have some wheels off a newer F-250/350 in my back yard....Problem is....They don't fit. The holes on the new rims are off by just a couple centimeters or so....a frog's hair as my dad used to say when in good company....anyway....do any of you here know where to get some adapters? I'm not sure what year exactly these wheels came off of...I did go to a junk yard last year and pulled a spare tire from a late 90's 250 van...those fit..I'm guessing these are off a newer truck...Sorry for being long winded.....just trying to address some questions before hand
Thanks Y'all
Mike
Dodge 61-09 are 8 on 6 1/2 (But I think 16's and then 17 rim size ?)
Chevy 65-09 pick up 8 on 6 1/2, center hole might not be big enough, machinable.
H-1 Humvee 88-09, 8 on 6 1/2, but military H-1 with run-flats fronts are to deep set to work, will need to be recentered.
H2 03-09 8 on 6 1/2 (once again 17's or 18's??) and I am sure a center hole issue, but machinable.
Ck some tire and wheel shops that have some 'take offs" for sale. A new set of aluminium modular 8 on 6 1/2's that are 16 are not to bad and the 16 gives you a wider choice of tires.
Welcome to FTE, great place to surf and learn.
