I've noticed that when you turn on your headlights the back lighting for the dash goes so dim that you almost can't see it. I've tried playing with the dimmer switch to no avail. Is there something to do or is this just the way it is? maybe I'm missing something here. The manual isn't much help.
On mine if I just keep tapping on the top of the switch it continues to get brighter to the point that they get very bright, and if I hold down the top of the switch it turns the interior light on.
Have yous ever been bright of did this problem just start?
Mine are very nice and bright during the day but they will dim a lot at night and I've tried tapping the switch to the point that the interior light comes on but the dash light are still half way dim.
I noticed this with my rental 2012 truck which had the autolamp feature, which I found annoying (along with the reverse sensors and Sync). This doesn't happen on my 2011, which has normal manual lamp control.
Mine does the same thing, only seems to do it durring daylight hours with lights on, has done it since I got it, was thinking it had something to do with the day light senser on dash, took the senser apart the other day and used a sharpie to darkin it so I could keep switch in auto mode so lights would be on at all times, that didnt work and dash lights still dim on me at times.
Place a piece of paper or your hat over the sensor in the middle of the dash up by the windshield and your dash lights will come on with the head lights. It's very annoying to me as well
A black sharpie all over inside of cap won't work but a peice
Of paper will. Wasn't there a thread about colering In
The cap to make lights on at all times??
