ok so i am reintalling my transmission (4R70W) into my pick up and i have everything done except for some my dipstick will not go all the way in. it only goes in about a 1/4 in. then wont go any farther. The weird part is the bracket for it is right where its suppose to be on the upper right bell housing bolt. I'm wondering if maybe it got tweaked any while being in my bed while i was waiting for parts or what.
I can wiggle it around just fine. But it just won't go all the way down. And as it sits now with only about a quarter inch in the hole the bracket hole is on its mounting bolt perfectly. So I don't know if that bracket got a little tweaked on it or what. But it looks perfect except it's like the tube got shorter
Nope no plug. I rebuilt the transmission myself and the hole is perfectly smooth in the transmission. I think the bracket got tweaked somehow. I've looked all over town for a new one to compare it to but not auto parts store has one
Sounds right, probably pull it and either get one from junk yard or order it if you can't get it to streighten and pass the stick huh. Jobs sometimes/seldom are so simple. LOL
More than likely the tube got pinched due to getting bent somewhere in the removal / installation process. It is common with such an extremely long tube.
