I have a 1994 F350 7.5l 4x4 5speed. I ham not able to read ECM codes. I have a tried a couple different ODB1 readers and the have tried to jump the port and only get a solid check engine light .
Is the ECM fried?
You are connecting the single STI wire to the code readers along with the main test conector right?
Does the engine run? if so then your ECM isn't fried but you may have a broken wire between the test connector and computer. The 3 main signals are STO(pin 17), STI(pin 48), and Sig-Rtn(pin 46), I suggest disconnecing the harness from the ECM(after discomnnecting the battery) and probe these wires with a multimeter to ensure continuity, and if you find an open track down and repair the break.
