OK, looks like our 6.0 at work needs the FICM fixed. Anyone ever hear of a half FICM. Ford dealer here has half or whole FICM's. Apparently the half FICM is only $500 and doesn't need programming. Anyone ever hear of this?

Don't have time to send stuff out. This is a work truck and sending it out, especially the US is not in the cards. I was only wondering what a half FICM contains, and if anyone has ever done one.
I have never done a half shell personally, but from what I've heard, several have come back only to have the whole FICM replaced. For this reason, I will only install a whole FICM.
The FICM case splits down the middle. The power board is in one side, and the logic board is in the other. Usually it is the power board that fails, so that half can be repaired or replaced separately. A half shell would be the side that has the power board. No need to reflash it, because that is on the logic side.
Repairing a power board, replacing a power board, or replacing a half shell - six of one, half dozen of the other. Meaning, it accomplishes the same result.

Just for reference, that little window in the half shell above is the access hole for testing voltages while on the truck. The 4 or 7 screws accessible through the window must be removed to split the case halves.
Hello Guy’s, New to the forum & the diesel world, in need of a FICM; no start & misfiring. Volts before cranking 48 and volts while cranking 48. After starting truck with a squirt of starter fluid. Scanner showed all 8 injectors misfiring. Days later i got a hold of a loaner FICM, truck started right up re-scanned it all 8 injectors functioning properly. Will a FICM half shell fix this issue or these symptoms of a bad processor board and not the converter board of the FICM? Any suggestions / ideas will be greatly appreciated, Thanks! <O</O
Maybe not is the quick answer. The best thing would be to call Ed at FICM Repair.com - Your Source for FICM Repair
If you can't wait he has an exchange program you can ask him about.
The fact that you have 48V makes me think there there is a problem
with the processer side not the power supply. But give Ed a call
and he can give you a educated opinion.
That's what bullet proof diesel sells, I had a failing ficm. Ordered the power half , and it fixed my problem, they also state on their website
"The entire FICM consists of two parts: the logic board and the power supply. The logic board seldom fails and it is the part with the programming on board. The power supply half of the FICM fails 9/10 times (according to Ford) and this portion of the FICM does not need to be programmed."
