Got the Line X installed today. Amazing, nothing less. Spend lots of time researching the installed/dealer and it paid off. Even got em to do my flat load floor for me out of my 6.4
btw they removed the bed bolts, and the tie downs. sprayed, then replaced. and after all the bed bolt fuss, i decided to have him dab a bit of anti seize on em prior to re installing them. he was happy to do so and agreed it was a smart choice. (also it was a body shop that was the line x dealer, and an impressive shop at that)
i'm not sure what it is...does it install under the seats? Then fold out to make a floor for cargo? Do the seats still fold up and work ok?
it installs under the rear seat in place of the storage box. the seat still functions perfect as the design is identical to the previous generation. its extremely useful for cargo or gear or dogs or just about anything that you want to keep out of the elements, but off your nice seats.
i put my dogs kennel on it and strap in down so it cant move. very safe for travel. also use it for backpacks, suitcases, gun cases, or anything else i might be traveling with that i dont want in the bed for whatever reason (weather, security, delicate items)
The dealer in my area wanted $800 to spray my bed. Just way to much money, a lot more than a Rhino job.
my first quote from a local line x dealer was somewhere near that for an 8'bed, with/out tailgate (i have the step) and under the rails, quote included the "premium" option which only adds uv protection to keep it shiny. (can be added at any time for same result. ) i told him i knew of people getting it in the 4-500 range. he told me those were old prices and material costs went up
i called several other line x shops and got quotes much much less. all around the 485 range. then i emailed the first guy with my findings and wished him good luck. he ended up replying saying he misquoted me and the correct price was 485. the price i told him i had found elsewhere.
I feel he was attempting to gouge me as the next shop to offer the service was an hour away. but when i got a better price, he didnt want to lose the business so he caved. long story short (yes theres more) he lost my business anyway and im glad i found an outstanding shop even tho i had to drive farther.
That sounds really nice! I have my boxes full of gear at the moment. I would love to see a pic of that in your truck as well.
looks like im doing the flat load floor install tomorrow as well.
im in the process of making a mod to still make use of the 12v power that is currently routed to the storage box. (even tho i have just about no use for it)
