Temp gauge in E4OD

I bought a tranny temp gauge for my 92 f250 with an E4od. Where is the best place to mount the sender where I will get a good reading?

Temp gauge in E4OD

On the driver's side, just above the pan and towards the front is a port with a 1/8" pipe plug. Remove the plug and install the sender there.

Be careful not to overtighten! Several people have broken the sender off in this hole.

Now do you know where to go to find how hot you should let yur tranny get? or other oils breaking down from high temps?

I installed temp gauge with external filter, nice setup, but didn't kno what was to HOT.
