Frame Painted

Well, actually half of its painted. This process is going slow, I purchased this truck Back in December and other than some mechanical work I haven't had the time or $ to do much. One of the reasons was that my 15 gallon compressor would not run any tools. I got a great deal on a 60 gallon compressor and started on the frame. Using a knotted wire brush amd a die grinder made pretty quick work of the rust. I used implement paint wt hardener from Tractor Supply and rolled it with small foam rollers and foam brushes. It turned out real nice.

Looks bad but mostly surface rust.

It turned out pretty nice, now on the the bed. I have the fenders stripped amd DA'd wt 80 grit. When the box is done it will be shot with SPI epoxy primer.

That looks awesome! I've been trying to paint mine and I really need to take the bed off to do it right. Thanks for the pics.

Nice work, me and the kids did the exact same thing today on our 74 f100. My hands tell the tale with amount of black paint on them.

I have been toying with the idea of using foam rollers. How did it go on? Regular brushes leave some small strokes. Did the rollers help avoid that?

It looks good!

The rollers worked great, I picked them up,from harbor freight for a couple bucks. The paint layed down nice and there was no marks or strokes. Definitely the way to go.
