Climate Controlled Seats (issue?)

Ok, so after a few days of having the truck, and trying out the heat in the morning and the ac in the afternoon, Im starting to think something is up. They dont seem to get very warm, or cool. I notice slight cooling on the bottom section on high after a while, but nothing impressive. same for heat. WTH

Mine work really well and are NOTICEABLY warm or cool. I'd have the dealer look at it if you don't feel they are working well.

You only get a slight cooling affect noticeable when it's hot. It won't ac your carriage. Just a nice touch when your sweating and waiting for the ac to kick in. I use mine on occasion for 10-15 minutes. My wife likes to keep the heat on all the time. Too hot for me. I would think northern states/Canadians or deep south would find more comfort in this. I wonder if the cooled seats come on with remote start in the summer?

Compared to my Navigator, these seats are much hotter and cooler. You might want to take it in to have the techs give it a look see.

The heating in the seats work realy good, when I picked the truck up at the dealer it was a nice 40 degrees out and they took the chill off my back, the cooling is noticeable like Fontana said, but not the same effect has the heat

I concur with the other replies, my seats cool well (in Texas its a big plus) the heat works so well I can't wait to get into it in cooler weather due to bad disks in my back,,,great therapy....but seriously, if you are not feeling much of a difference then there must be an issue-let the dealer look at it,,also try the other trucks on the lot and see if there is a difference

The Lariat I test drove cooled the spot on the seat cushion right where the family jewels were resting but was not spread out well. Noted nothing on the back. But compared to the Benzs I work on it was anarctica....

The seats will be colder if your actual ac is on since there's ducts under the seats.

Scorpion,

When I fist got my truck 22 months ago I took it back 5 times because the drivers seat would not cool my fanny but it would freeze the hell out of my lumbard area and kidneys. Every time I would the the service writer and the tech to compare between driver and passenger seat, passenger worked fine, and for the first 4 trips it always my imagination (even though they trough parts at it like the seat fan and the A/C control module). Finally, they were told by the hot line to tear into the bottm of my seat and look at the foam. What they found was that the lower cusion was made for non-A/C seats and didn't have the tiny pin holes in it to allow the air flow up through the seat.

Check yur passenger seat and see how that feels, if it works like the rest of us now feel, then there is a problem with the seat or blower.

Have you checked your under seat blower and filter? it could be blocked.

The seats really do work pretty good once (both heat and cool) they put the correct foam in it, even though it takes about 10 minutes before you want to reach over and turn it down one notch to save the jewels from getting frost bite

You can see the filter and blower from the rear seat floor board looking forward.

Hope this helps you chill out! They work good even here in Florida summers.

This is odd. My heaters get pretty warm, but cooling won't "freeze my jewels off". Ive also compared drivers side to passenger side, and they are the same.

I think the sensation is pretty subjective. I've never gotten to the point in the summer where I need to turn it down a notch, but it does get cool.

Being fan driven they will never compare to electric element seat heaters. The air is being forced through many tiny holes and channels in the foam and there are too many variables, (weight of occupant) to get consistent performance. I find they do an adequate job of heating but not great. On the AC side it is better than no AC seats but again subject to many variables. I will say the hotter it is outside the better they seem to work. Now that may just be perception because of the temperature variance.
