Alright guys, i have replaced the headlight switch, and brake light switch but my tail lights stay on after i turn the truck off? Does anyone have any ideas, i had to redue the wiring in the engine due to the harness getting stuck in the fan, is there a wire on the harness that controls just the tail lights and only needs to get power with the key on?
First of all, you should clarify which lights in the back are staying on - the turn signals/emergency flashers/brake lights (all share the same filaments in the bulbs) or the tail (aka parking) lights (different filament).
Assuming this problem started once you did your wiring work up front, my guess is you somehow have power going to a solid brown wire up there when you shouldn't.
This single wire feeds all the side marker lamps, tail lamps, front parking lamps (below the headlights), license plate illumination, and overhead marker lamps (if equipped).
